Read Me First
Before developing Scrap Dragon, our engineers had years of experience developing software in numerous other industries. Ten years ago, when we began to work in the recycling industry, we refused to be constrained by traditional scrap yard thinking. Using a completely objective approach, our Industrial Engineers developed Scrap Dragon with the goal of utilizing any available technology to produce the fastest, easiest and most efficient tool for buying and selling scrap metal. After hearing the accolades from our customers, we know that we've done it right. They love our software and we know that you will love it too. Why else would we let you try it for free? Before you begin your evaluation, please consider these questions.

• Are your scales interfaced to your computer?
• Do you have an ATM?
• Do you have a mag card encoder?
• Do you have a Touch Screen Monitor?
• Do you have networked video cameras aimed at your scales and your cashier?
• Do you have a bar code reader?
• Do you have a thermal receipt printer with bar code printer fonts?
• Do you have a color license scanner with OCR capability?
• Do you have a mag stripe reader?

If the answer to these questions is NO, then don’t worry; actually, we would be surprised if you could answer YES to any of these. While common in many service industries, these are not components that you typically find in a scrap yard. These proven, highly efficient data capture devices have all been incorporated into the basic design of Scrap Dragon. While it is possible to examine our software without these tools, you will not be able to fully appreciate how Fast & Easy Scrap Dragon really is.

We urge you to visit one of our customer’s yards or to at least speak with them on the telephone. Be sure to ask how easily their employees mastered Scrap Dragon with minimal training. While examining our product, keep in mind that the software can be easily configured for a variety of scrap yard scenarios. The tickets, receipts, tags, and other printed forms are all designed to be customized for your specific needs. The user-friendly Button Maker makes it easy to create your own Touch activated buying screens without any custom programming required.

The install program will automatically set up two companies. One is called ‘Transact Payment Systems’ and already has some demo data. The other company is called ‘Your Company’ and can be used to try the software with your own data. To login, the user is 9, the password is 9, and you select the company to use at the bottom of the login screen.

The uninstall program will remove all of the programs and data with the exception of the folder that contains the data for ‘Your Company.’ This eliminates the possibility of deleting any data that you might really want. This folder can be manually deleted if you decide not to purchase the software or just don't want to keep this data.

We suggest that you look through the screens in this Quick Start Manual before trying to use the program. Many of the features that are described here are not configured when the demo is installed because they require peripherals that you probably don't have. The self-running tutorials are a good place to start your evaluation. The complete user manual can be accessed either from the desktop icon or from the help option in Scrap Dragon back office.
